I would like to thank both NetGalley and Random House Publishing for allowing me to read and review this book. I am sorry it took me almost two years to do so. All opinions are my own.

Book Review:

I enjoyed this book and gave it 4 stars. Nicholas’ books usually are hard hitting, and the topics can make you cry. At first this book started out a little different and I was getting concern that he was changing up, but as the book went on I could see that he hadn’t. I was also a little concerned because part of the book sounded like another book, he wrote a while back but just a little different. In all I liked this book and beware there are some triggers so check them out before you pick this one up. I won’t give them here because they are spoilers.

In this book you have a young man who is in Florida for a week following a dream he had. He is a farmer who loves to write songs and sings. He is singing at a bar for the week and doing really well. While he is there, he meets a young lady, and they hit off. They spend time together and actually write a song a together.

The other part is about a young woman and her son who are escaping from an abusive husband. It tells about her struggles and how she is trying to stay one step ahead. the son doesn’t realize that they are running, and he is quite and keeps to himself.

How do the two stories connect you will have to read the book to find out. I was wondering also and was surprised about the connection.
