Weekly Wrap-Up

I read 7 books for the week of July 7th-July 13th. This brings my yearly total to 192 books read. The page total is 1,493 pages.

just Like Home By: Sarah Gailey

I gave this book 3 stars. Vera goes home even though she has an estrangement with her mom. Her father was a serial killer, and he buried the bodies under the house. Now her mom and herself aren’t by themselves anymore.

Creepy Pair of Underwear By: Aaron Reynolds

I gave this picture book 3 stars. Jasper needs new underwear. His mom buys him the white ones, but he sees a creepy pair and he wants those instead. His mom agrees to buy one pair. That night he wears the creepy green pair. He didn’t realize that they glow in the dark and they scare him. He tries to get reid of them, but they keep showing up.

Creepy Crayon! By: Aaron Reynolds

I gave this picture book 3 stars. Jasper isn’t doing well in school. He finds a purple crayon and discovers when he uses it, he can get straight A’s. This is great until the crayon always wants his attention.

The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi By: Shannon Chakraborty

I gave this book 3 stars. Amina should be content, but she isn’t. She is tracked down by a mother because her daughter has been kidnapped and she wants Amina to find her and bring her home.

Book of Ghost Stories By: Roald Dahl

I gave this collection of short stories 3 stars. There are 14 of them and they were just ok. They weren’t very scary.

Our Last Resort By: Clemence Michallon

I gave this book 4 stars. I have a review for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2025/07/11/our-last-resort-book-review/

Jamaica Road By: Lisa Smith

I ended the week with a DNF. I didn’t like the conversationally parts of this book. The story line sounded great, but I just couldn’t get past the speaking parts. I stopped at 8 % which is around page 36.
