Weekly Wrap-Up

These are the 12 books that I read for the week of April 7th-April 13th. This brings my yearly total to 101 books read. These books totaled 2,620 pages.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill By: Abbi Waxman

This was on my April TBR. I gave this book 4 stars. Nina is the only child of a single mother. One day she gets a notice from a lawyer that her father passed away and he left her something. Her life is now different, and she doesn’t know how to handle it.

This was on my March TBR. I gave this book 5 stars. This is about Laura’s life in Mansfield, Mo

Guillotine By: Delilah S. Dawson

This was on my April TBR. I wanted to read it in January for the winterween readathon but didn’t get to it. I gave this book 4 stars. Wow the other side isn’t what you think.

Cover Story By: Susan Rigetti

This was a mood read. I gave this book 3 stars. Dreams do come true or don’t they. Lara meets Cat who is the editor for Elle Magazine. Cat asks Lara to be her ghost writer. Lara does so against her family wishes because that means that Lara will not finish her last her of college. Then things start to hit the fan so to speak.

A Taste for Crime By: Ellery Adams and Tina Radcliffe

Jefferson Davis: Man of the Hour By: Gordon A. Cotton

This was on my April TBR. I gave this book 4 stars. I bought this book at the old Court House in Vicksburg, Mississippi. A short history of Jefferson Davis.

Off Menu By: Oliver Gerlach

This was a mood read. I gave it 4 stars. Soup was brought up in a kitchen. She doesn’t know where her parents are. Her boss is really moody lately and is getting harder on everyone. One day they get into it, and they decide to do a cook off. If Soup wins, she gets to take over the restaurant but if the boss wins Soup is gone.

Little Newspapers on the Prairie: The Frontier Press of Carrie Ingalls By: Julie Hedgepeth Williams

This was on my April TBR. I gave this book 4 stars. The book was more about newspapers than about Carrie Ingalls.

Hex You By: P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

This was on my April TBR. I gave this book 4 stars. This is the final book in the Sisters of Salem series. The sisters finally make up. Now can they fix the gates, or will they fail and the town will be doomed.

Murder by the Hook By: Betty Hechtman

Prairie Lotus By: Linda Sue Park

This was on my March TBR. I gave this book 4 stars. I wanted to read this book in February for the Little House Readathon but didn’t get it so moved it to March for Middle grade March. Life on the prairie of a young half white and half Chinese girl isn’t easy. Her mother passed away and they have moved from California to Dakota Territory. Her father tries to keep her hidden as much as possible, but she will have nothing to do with it. She wants to be independent. This is her story.
