I have already read this book, but my copy was all beat up and I wanted a nicer copy. I am planning a reread soon.

Liberty By: Julian Voloj and Jorg Hartmann

I received this book from the publisher Penguin Random House.

The Statue of Liberty was built and assembled in France, based on an idea in 1865 by jurist Édouard Lefebvre de Laboulaye, to honor Abraham Lincoln’s widow. The sculpture was entrusted in 1871 to the Frenchman Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. This monumental work, supported by the committed journalist Joseph Pulitzer, was offered by the French people to the Americans and unveiled in broad daylight on October 28, 1886, for the centenary of the American Declaration of Independence.
This great adventure that marked the history of art is also a human and fraternal epic, that of Bartholdi and his friends.
