Summerween TBR

Summerween is coming. It is a week-long readathon. It goes from July 5th-July 11th. There are five prompts, and I chose a book for each one. I tried to use books that are already on my TBR. I will use Good Reads to tell you about the book that I chose.

Kill Joy by: Holly Jackson

I chose this book for reading a book at night. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t reading a horror at night because I would like to sleep.

Good Read Blurb:

Find out where it all started for Pip in this prequel novella to the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

Pippa Fitz-Amobi is not in the mood for her friend’s murder mystery party. Especially one that involves 1920’s fancy dress and pretending that their town, Little Kilton, is an island called Joy. But when the game begins, Pip finds herself drawn into the make-believe world of intrigue, deception and murder. But as Pip plays detective, teasing out the identity of the killer clue-by-clue, the murder of the fictional Reginald Remy isn’t the only case on her mind … Contains mature content, for older readers.

With only a curious map and the whispered memories of an old dragon to guide them, they fly across moonlit lands and seas to reach the highest mountains in the world. Along the way, they discover extraordinary new friends in unlikely places and a courage they never knew they had. The Unlikelies By: Carrie Firestone

Read a book that takes place in the summer.

Good Read Blurb:

One good deed will change everything.

Sadie is not excited for the summer before her senior year. It will be her first without her college-bound best friend and (now ex-)boyfriend by her side, so Sadie braces herself for a long, lonely, and boring season working at a farm stand in the Hamptons. But things take an unexpected turn when Sadie steps in to help rescue a baby in peril and footage of her impromptu good deed goes viral.

As she’s recovering from “the incident” and adjusting to her Internet fame, Sadie receives an invitation to a lunch honoring teem homegrown heroes. The five honorees instantly connect and soon decide to spend their time together righting local wrongs. Sadie and her new friends embark on escalating acts of vigilante Good Samaritanism but might be in over her heads when they try to help a heroin-addicted friend. Are good intentions enough to hold unlikely friendships—and an even unlikelier new romance—together?
