Weekly Wrap-Up

These are the books that I read for the week of April 29th-May 5th. I read 7 books which brings my yearly reading total to 147 books. These books totaled 1,823 pages.

The Maid by: Nita Prose

I gave this book 3 stars. It was close to having 4 stars but didn’t quite make it. I enjoyed this book. Now I need to read book two which I own. Molly is different. she is a very obsessive with her cleaning which is a plus for her being a maid in a very high rating hotel. One day she finds a dead body in one of the rooms she is cleaning. As things continue on for the next couple of days, they aren’t looking good for her. Then a turn of events happens, and things start looking up. There is an ending that will surprise you.

Rolling in the Deep By: Mira Grant

A network is commissioned to do a documentary on Mermaids. they think this will be great because they aren’t real. Oh, how surprised they are when they discover differently. I read this book for R/Fantasy.

The Family Game By: Catherine Steadman

I gave this book 4 stars. I have a review for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2024/05/05/the-family-game-book-review/

A Holly Jolly Ever After By: Joulie Murphy and Sierra Simone

I gave this book 3 stars. Yes, I know it is a Christmas book. I finally got the audiobook for this, so I wasn’t going to not listened to it.

Winnie’s marriage is over, and she has needs to redefine herself, so she decides to be a star in a steamy show.

Kallum is a former member of a boy band. He owns a pizza shop now. he decides to get back into the spotlight and agrees to be in the same show as Winnie. How will things go since they are total opposites.

The Angel Maker By: Alex North

I gave this book 3 stars. Kate hasn’t been able to forgive herself about what happened to her brother. She now has a child of her own and is receiving threats or she thinks she is she can’t tell the difference. A detective is facing a gruesome crime. Both cases seem to be connected can they figure it out before something else happens.

Camp By: Kayla Miller

I gave this graphic novel 4 stars. This is about summer and friendships. i read this book for Middle Grade Mayhem and readathin bingo.

Persephone By: Loic Locatelli-Kournwsky

I gave this graphic novel 3 stars. This is a different take on Persephone story. She is adopted in this book. Because she is adopted, she doesn’t have any special abilities. The small town doesn’t realize this and when something happens, they expect her to use magic to fix it or stop it. Her mother usually shows up in the nick of time to save everyone including her daughter. One day Persephone is kidnapped and of course her mother is there to save her. Except this time, she can’t because she ate something she wasn’t supposed to. Now, she didn’t eat of her own will it was forced on her. Will she be able to come back to her town or is she doomed.

Now an update on my Readathin Bingo board. I have read the graphic novel and that is all I got read. I did get a lot of the fun squares done though. I had a date night with my husband we went out to eat. I watched some crocheting YouTube channels and learned about a new yarn that I am dying to try. I tried a new recipe which is on my other blog thelifeofacoloradowife.blogspot.com I got my nails done and was off social media for 30 minutes. So, I will have to say I did really well this week.

Have you read any these books? if so, what did you think? Let’s chat in the comments below.
