This is one of her better books that I have read. I have read quite a few of her books. I am still working on the rest. This is the second cover for this book. My book has a lady on it who is on the ship.
This book takes place on a ocean liner called The Queen Charlotte. We have Celia Kilbride who is recovering from the humiliating arrest of her husband-to-be. Also Emily Haywood (Lady Em) who is eighty-six and immensely wealthy. She has brought her devoted assistant, and investment manager with his wife. Professor Henry Longworth is one of the speakers. His specialty is Shakespeare. My all time favorites are back and they are Alvirah and Willy Meehan. They are celebrating their 45th anniversary. We have Ted Cavanaugh is the son of the ambassador to Great Britain and also deals in stolen jewelry from Egypt. Devon Michaelson who is a detective. Lets not forget the cruise liners staff.
Let me say that first of all she had a lot of people and she gave great details on all of them.
The story is that Lady Em has brought a very expensive necklace said to be Cleopatra’s on the cruise and plans to wear it to one of the events. According to legend, this necklace has a deadly curse on whoever wears at sea. She does end up dead but the necklace is missing. Who took the necklace and did the necklace kill her or did someone else do the deed.
As normal Alvirah gets involves and solves the case.
Celia also has befriended Lady Em before her death.
What is Devon Michaelson doing on the cruise? Is he there for the necklace or to keep on eye on Celia.
Why is Ted on the cruise. He believes that the necklace was stolen from the tomb of Cleopatra and wants to recover it and send it back to the museum in Egypt.
Why is Henry Longworth even considered in this story
There are a lot of questions and twist in this story. This was a great book and like I said before one of her better books.
I hope you read this book and find out all the answers. It was hard to write about because I didn’t want to give anything away.
Until next time keep reading.
