Weekly Wrap-Up

I am back and hoping to do better with my posts. This weekly wrap-up is for the week of September 18th-September 24th. I read 9 books this week which brings my yearly reading total to 275 books. These books totaled 1,680 pages.

Blacktop Wasteland By: S. A. Cosby

I gave this book 3 stars. Bug has built a great life for himself and his family. Things happen and everything he has worked for falls apart.

Crown Chasers By: Rebecca Coffindaffer

I gave this book 3 stars. Alyssa is trying to outrun her family legacy. She doesn’t want to the next one in line for the throne. When her uncle is dying, he doesn’t name her as the successor but calls for a crown chaser, which hasn’t been called for in seven centuries. This means that Alyssa is one of many who compete against each other to win the throne, even though she doesn’t want it.

An Unholy Death By: Leslie Budewitz

I gave this book 4 stars. I have a review for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2023/09/22/an-unholy-death-book-review/

Lady of Ashes By: Christine Trent

I gave this book 4 stars. A married woman follows her husband into his business of a funeral person. It is the 1800’s and this is not normal for a married lady to work. Later she becomes a widow and takes in an orphan girl.

The One and Only Bob By: Katherine Applegate

I gave this book 5 stars. I just love hearing about the friendship between these special animals. This is Bob’s story.

Fairy Poems By: Laura Ingalls Wilder

I gave this book 4 stars. These are the poems she wrote while she was visiting Rose in San Francisco.

Ivan: The Remarkable true story of the shopping mall gorilla By: Katherine Applegate

I gave this book 4 stars. This is a shorter version of his story for younger children. It is still fun to read, and you learn a lot.

Ways to Play By: Lyn Miller-Lachmann

I gave this book 4 stars. Cute book about cousins learning different ways to play.

Over and Under the Pond By: Kate Messner

I gave this book 4 stars. I read this book because in the area I live we have what is called Pueblo All Reads. This means that three books are picked for the fall and the whole town reads them and then listens to the author as they talk about them. This one was chosen for the children. It is a cute story about life in, out and around the pond.

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think about them? Let’s chat in the comments down below. Until next time, keep reading.
