Here is another book from my first blog.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. This book is about a bisexual high school senior who lives in Provo, Utah. Tanner is the main character, and he is the one who is bisexual. His best friend is Autumn who is slightly in love with him. Sebastian is a clean-cut Mormon who is struggling with the knowledge he is gay. Tanner has moved to Utah from California because his mom got a great job offer. Tanner is not a Mormon. Tanner’s dad is Jewish, and his mom use to be a Mormon. She is not friendly towards the religion even though she grew up in the church.
Autumn talks Tanner into taking a Writing Seminar class in his Senior year. He applies and gets in and learns he has to write a book for his final grade. Sebastian took this class the year before and actually will be getting his book published before he leaves for his mission. Sebastian is now a freshman at BYU but for this term of school will be the TA for the class. Sebastian helps Tanner with his book because there isn’t an equal number of students in the class and Tanner doesn’t have a partner. The book tells how they get together and how they handle their feelings towards each other. How Tanner’s parents are worried about it because of what Mormons believe and they don’t want him to get hurt. Yes, his parents know he is bisexual. How Sebastian struggles with his belief and his sexual tendencies.
I feel the author did a great job in describing the Mormon faith and how they feel about this subject.
I gave this book four stars.
