Weekly Wrap-up

This wrap-up is for the week of Maay1st-May 7th. I read a total of 9books which brings my yearly total to 145 books. These books total 3,219 pages.

Unseelie By: Ivelisse Housman

I gave this book 3 stars. Twin sisters who are as different as night and day. One is human and one is a changeling. The changeling decides to leave home to protect her parents and her twin goes with her.

Against the Odds: The Life of George Albert Smith By: Mary Jane Woodger

I gave this book 4 stars. This is about the life of George Albert Smith who was a prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Even though he was a very ill man he did great things.

The Snow Child By: Eowyn Ivey

I gave this book 3 stars. A childless couple who sees a little girl in the snow. Who is this girl and where did she come from?

Whisper Down the Lane By: Clay McLeod Chapman

I gave this book 4 stars. This can be a hard-hitting book. This is about children reporting that their teacher wasn’t being good by touching them in the wrong way. As you read you can tell what is actually happening. This is a dual timeline. The present timeline talks about the effects of the past.

The Wreck of the Titan or, Futility By: Morgan Robertson

I gave this book 3 stars. This was written before the Titanic sinking. I really wasn’t a fan of this book. It was a little confusing at parts and choppy. Too much underhandedness by the crew against another crew member. I was led to believe that this book was about the Titanic, and it wasn’t.

Borrow My Heart By: Kasie West

I gave this book 4 stars. I have a review up for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2023/05/06/borrow-my-heart-book-review/

The Eye of the World By: Robert Jordan

I gave this book 3 stars. This book took me longer than I thought it would to read it.

3 boys are being chased by the dark because one of them is said to have special abilities, but they don’t know which one.

In the Lives of Puppets By: TJ Klune

I gave this book 3 stars. I have a review up for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2023/05/07/in-the-lives-of-puppets-book-review/

The Secrets of Dumbledore By: JK Rowling

I gave this book 4 stars. This is the third book in the Fantastic Beasts. This one is about a Qilin who can read a person’s soul to tell if they are good or bad.

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think about them? Do you agree with my star ratings? It is ok not to agree because everyone’s reading taste is different. Let’s chat in the comments down below. Until next time, keep reading.
