Weekly Wrap-Up

This wrap-up is for the week of January 16th-January 22nd. I read a total of 11 books which brings my yearly reading to 33 books. The pages read came 2,545 pages.

Pies and Prejudice By: Ellery Adams

I gave this cozy mystery 4 stars. This is the first book in the Charmed Pie Shoppe. Ella returns back home after finding her husband with someone else. She wants to start over and is preparing to open a pie shoppe. The old veterinarian is found died and her prints are on the murder weapon.

Something is Killing the Children By: James Tynuion IV

I read both volume 3 and 4 this week. Volume 3 is about the society coming together to clean up the mess in the town where Erica is working. Erica argues with them and escapes to finish the job she was assigned to do. Tommy takes the blame for the murder of the children by the monsters so that everyone can have closure. Volume 4 is about how Erica became a member of the society. I gave both a 4 star.

Tales from the Cafe By: Toshikazu Kawaguchi

I gave this book 3 stars. More stories from the cafe who sends you back in time. One story is about a father who is finally going to tell his daughter the truth about who her dad is. This book was better than the first one.

They Set the Fire By: Daniel Kraus

A Christmas Memory By: Richard Paul Evans

I gave this book 4 stars. Richard remembers the Christmas where his brother isn’t there. He is killed in Vietnam. The family is falling apart and will be separating soon. They go to Grandma’s in Calif. one last time and learn from one of her neighbors what the true meaning of Christmas Spirit really is.

Into the Riverlands By: Nghi Vo

I gave this book 3 stars. Quick read about old legends. The young ones learn them, and new dangers happen as Chich travels to the Riverlands.

Sprinkle with Murder By: Jenn McKinlay

I gave this cozy mystery 4 stars. A designer is found died with a cupcake. Another bakery shop competing for customers. Who killed the designer? Her fiancĂ©, the baker of the cupcake or the designer’s employee?

The Titanic Sisters By: Patricia Falvey

Two sisters on their way to New York to start a new life. the titanic sinks. One sis is missing and presumed dead, and the other sister poses as her presumed dead sister to take the governess position. So, their lives begin. I gave this book 3 stars.

The First to Die at the End By: Adam Silvera

I gave this book 3 stars. This is where it begins. One has a bad heart and sign-ups for the new program but is never called. the other receives the dreaded phone call just as his modeling carrier is about to take off and he never signed up for the new program.

Saga Volume 10 By: Brian Vaughan

I gave this graphic novel 4 stars. This volume takes place three years after volume 9. Hazel is now 10 years and has an adopted brother. This brother is from volume 9. Mom has had a hard time but is doing the best she can for the children. She is a smuggler to make ends meat. she has a secret which is revealed in this volume.
