Weekly Wrap-Up

This wrap-up is for the week of December 19th-December 25th. I read a total of 9 books which brings my yearly reading total to 323 books. These books totaled 1,872 pages.

Brave Bird By: Rachel Bithell

I gave this book 4 stars. I have a review up for this book. Here is the link. https://debbiesreadingcorner.com/2022/12/20/brave-bird-at-wounded-knee-a-story-of-protest-on-the-pine-ridge-indian-reservation-book-review/

Brightly Woven By: Alexandra Bracken

I gave this book 4 stars. Wizard trying to prevent a war. Weaver with unknown powers.

So This Is Christmas By: Jenny Holiday

I gave this book 4 stars. Cara is sent to Eldovia to help the Royal family with their company. Matteo is an advisor to the Royal family and has been covering for the King as he grieves for his lost. They don’t like each other until they are forced to work together.

Runaways: Pride and Joy By: Brian K. Vaughan

I gave this graphic novel 4 stars. 6 kids find out their parents aren’t who they thought they thought they were. Some of the kids find out somethings about themselves also. This is the first volume of a new series.

Daisy Darker By: Alice Feeney

I gave this book 3 stars. Who is killing off the darker family and why?

The Christmas Hope By: Donna VanLiere

I gave this book 4 stars. A little girl going into foster care because her mother died. A social worker keeping her until after the Christmas.

The Christmas Blessing By: Donna VanLiere

I gave this book 4 stars. 15 years later Nathan is training to become a doctor. He finally meets the person who paid for the shoes he gave his mother before she died.

Are You My Mother? By: Alison Bechdel

I gave this graphic novel 1 stars. I DNF’D it at 39 pages in. This was hard to read and to get involved with. It was depressing. This is based on the author true life, and I hate having to give this a low rating because it is about her life. This wasn’t for me.

The Christmas Note By: Donna VanLiere

I gave this book 3 stars. Single mom moves closer to her mom. Next door is another woman who doesn’t seem to have a lot going for her. This woman’s mom has passed, and she is the one to clear things up.

Have you read any of these books? If so, what did you think of them? Do you agree with my ratings? Well, until next time, keep reading.
