I would first like to thank both NetGalley and Dragon Books for allowing me to read and review this book.
I gave this book 4 stars. At first, I thought this was a cozy mystery series until I just looked at the Subtitle better. This is an enjoyable book to read and the getting to know the characters was great fun. I know that there will be more to come with series since we have to go through all the Carter family children. In this book we are talking about Jake and Jaz.
Jaz is into Yoga and teaches yoga for a living. Jake is the Sheriff of the small town in Colorado.
Jaz is from Seattle and comes to the small Colorado town to get away from her boyfriend who isn’t what she thought he was. Her Grandma lives in this small town, and she decides to visit her until she figures out what she is going to do. She also has a poodle called Rambo. When she arrives at her grandma’s the next-door neighbor doesn’t realize Jaz is related to her neighbor and meets her with a shot gun. Jaz has had enough and gets very snippy which makes the neighbor call her brother, the sheriff. The sheriff does know that Jaz will be arriving and is able to get the situation under control.
She grows to love this little town and as she decides to set up a little yoga studio. She is getting to know the sheriff better and her newfound friends. Her shot gun carrying neighbor is one of them. There are a couple of incidents that happen to Jaz, but they don’t slow her down and is made stronger because of them.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series and come back to this little Colorado town.
