This is for the week of May 2nd-May 8th. I read a total of 6 books which brings my yearly reading total to 116 books. These books totaled 1,832 pages.

Running For My Life By: Lopez Lomong
I gave this book 4 stars. Lopez is from Africa, and this is his story of survival. How his love for life got him through hard times. His pathway to the Olympics and him rescuing his brothers and graduating from college. He talks about the people who love and encouraged him to accomplish his goals.

The Penderwicks By: Jeanne Birdsall
I gave this book 3.5 stars. This is the 1st book in a 5-book series. This first book finds them on a 3-week vacation in a cottage in the mountains instead of Cape Cod their usual vacation spot. They befriend a young man who is dealing with his mom’s new relationship who wants to send him to military school. They have several adventures along the way and make some new friends.

And then there were Crumbs By: Eve Calder
I gave this book 4 stars. This is the first book in a new cozy mystery series. The series is called a Cookie House mystery. You are introduced to the main character Kate who is new to a small town. She is from New York and wanting to start over. She is a pastry chef who has a talent of detecting everyone’s favorite cookie. She is able to convince the owner of the Cookie House Bakery to hire her temporally. During her second day her new boss is arrested for a murder. The whole town is surprised because he is so quiet and gentle. Kate and her new friend Maxi set out to prove he didn’t do it. this leads to many questions and discoveries. This was such a fun book to read, and the ending is not what would expect.

At Bertram’s Hotel By: Agatha Christie
I gave this book 3 stars. This is about a hotel in London. It isn’t what it seems. The main Character goes for a visit for the holidays. During her visit things happens and she is on the case to solve the mystery.

Fevered Star By: Rebecca Roanhorse

I gave this book 3 stars. This is her second book that I have read and haven’t really enjoyed them. This is about a boy who wasn’t supposed to live and a young girl who try to save a village.
